Everything you need to know about using Egern Premium Modules

What is Egern?

Egern is a powerful iOS proxy tool available on the App Store that allows you to intercept and modify HTTP/HTTPS requests made by apps on your iPhone or iPad. Think of it as a middleman that sits between your apps and the internet.

How Egern Works

  1. 1. VPN Connection: Egern creates a local VPN connection on your device (you'll see a VPN icon in your status bar)
  2. 2. Traffic Routing: All network traffic from your apps is routed through Egern's proxy
  3. 3. Request Interception: Egern intercepts HTTP/HTTPS requests based on rules defined in modules
  4. 4. Response Modification: JavaScript code in modules modifies API responses in real-time
  5. 5. App Receives Modified Data: Your app receives the modified response and behaves as if you have premium features

How to Install Egern

Download from App Store

Search for "Egern" in the App Store and download the app. It's a paid app (around $4.99).

Initial Setup

Open Egern and follow the initial setup wizard:

  • • Grant VPN permissions when prompted
  • • Allow notifications (optional, but recommended for module updates)
  • • Complete the tutorial

Enable VPN

Toggle the VPN switch in Egern to ON. You should see a VPN icon appear in your status bar. Egern is now active and ready to use modules.

How to Import Modules

Subscribe to a Plan

Choose a subscription tier from our pricing page. After payment, you'll receive:

  • • Your unique API key
  • • Module URLs for each app in your plan
  • • Access to your dashboard

Copy Module URL

From your dashboard, copy the module URL for the app you want to unlock. It will look like this:

Import in Egern

In the Egern app:

  1. Tap the "Modules" tab at the bottom
  2. Tap the "+" button in the top right
  3. Select "Import from URL"
  4. Paste your module URL
  5. Tap "Import"

Enable the Module

After importing, you'll see the module in your list. Toggle it ON to activate it.

Test the App

Force-close the target app (swipe up from app switcher) and reopen it. Premium features should now be unlocked!

Pro Tip

You can import multiple modules at once. Each module works independently, so you can enable/disable them as needed.

Troubleshooting

Module not working / Premium features not unlocked

Try these steps in order:

  1. Make sure Egern's VPN is ON (check for VPN icon in status bar)
  2. Verify the module is enabled in Egern's module list
  3. Force-close the target app completely (swipe up from app switcher)
  4. Reopen the app and wait a few seconds
  5. Check if your subscription is still active in your dashboard
  6. Try disabling and re-enabling the module
  7. If still not working, re-import the module URL
App is slow or not loading

This is usually a network issue:

  • • Check your internet connection
  • • Try switching between WiFi and cellular data
  • • Restart Egern's VPN (toggle OFF then ON)
  • • Check if you've hit your daily rate limit (visible in dashboard)
  • • Some apps may have temporary server issues unrelated to Egern
"Module import failed" error

This usually means:

  • • Your API key is invalid or expired - check your dashboard
  • • You copied the URL incorrectly - make sure there are no extra spaces
  • • Your subscription doesn't include this app - upgrade your plan
  • • The module URL format is wrong - it should start with https://api.scriptmarket.com/
VPN won't connect

Try these steps:

  1. Go to iPhone Settings → General → VPN & Device Management
  2. Delete any existing Egern VPN configurations
  3. Restart your iPhone
  4. Open Egern and try enabling VPN again
  5. Grant VPN permissions when prompted
App detected the module and blocked my account

While rare, this can happen:

  • • Disable the module immediately
  • • Contact the app's support to appeal the ban (don't mention Egern)
  • • Use a different account in the future
  • • We continuously update obfuscation to minimize detection risk
  • • Consider using a secondary account for apps with strict detection

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this legal?

Modifying HTTP requests on your own device is legal in most jurisdictions. However, using these modules likely violates the terms of service of the apps you're modifying. We are not responsible for any consequences. Use at your own risk.

Do I need to jailbreak?

No! Egern works on regular, non-jailbroken iPhones running iOS 15 or later. It's available on the official App Store.

Can I use one subscription on multiple devices?

Yes! You can use your API key on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad). However, all devices share the same daily rate limit.

What are rate limits?

Rate limits control how many API requests your modules can process per day. This prevents abuse and keeps our infrastructure costs manageable. Basic: 500/day, Pro: 2,000/day, Premium: 10,000/day. Normal usage rarely hits these limits.

How do automatic updates work?

Modules are hosted on our servers and fetched by Egern each time you open an app. When we update a module (to fix bugs or adapt to app changes), you automatically get the latest version. No manual updates needed!

Can I request a new app?

Yes! Premium subscribers can request custom app modules. We evaluate each request based on technical feasibility and demand. Popular requests are prioritized. Contact support with your request.
